Certified Temperament Counselor, NCCA,
Professional Clinical Member, NCCA,
Licensed Clinical Christian Counselor, NCCA
Ordained Pastoral Counselor, NCCA
Career Background and Calling:
Prior to becoming a Pastoral Counselor, I was a Medical Social Worker in hospice and home care for 23 years. A turn of events in my personal life led me to change careers. In hindsight, I can see the hand of God utilizing the giftedness that he has placed within me to draw people into a deep, healing relationship with Jesus Christ. The Lord has called me into a position of being co-founder and co-director since the inception of Redeemed in 2013. I have also been a Pastoral Counselor with Redeemed from its beginning.
Personal Statement:
I am so grateful that God is faithful and has a good plan for my life (our lives). As I reflect on events of my journey that have prepared me to be what and where I am now, I recognize that the deep emotional pain and the intense physical pain that I have experienced will be used by God to help others. I am so grateful for the love and grace of the Heavenly Father, the friendship and salvation of Jesus Christ, and the comfort, transformation, and power of the Holy Spirit.
Biographical Information:
My husband, John and I have been married since 1981. We have 2 adult children who are married and have blessed us with 8 grandchildren.

Career Background and Calling:
As the Director of a County Crisis Hotline, I managed a group home of handicapped adults and served as a youth counselor for runaway teens outside New York City and subsequently as an inner city missions pastor in Southern California. It has been my privilege to serve as pastor for the Christian band, Citizen Way. I am also blessed to have been taught by such renowned scholars as J.I. Packer, Henry and Richard Blackaby, and Gordon MacDonald.
I serve as an Adjunct Professor of Christian Ministry and Leadership at Judson Univ., Elgin, IL., and have ministered and taught in Africa, South America, the Caribbean, and the U.S.
Personal Statement:
If you continue to do what you’ve always done, you’ll continue to have what you always
had! Jesus came to give you new life, not just refurbish your old life!
When people ask me the kinds of people I prefer to counsel, I refer them to the man Jesus met at the Pool of Bethesda. He had been an invalid for 38 years when Jesus asked him if he wanted to get well. I used to think that that was a crazy question until I started to work with people and soon realized that not everyone wants to get well! I like working with people who want to get well and are willing to do what it takes for that to happen.

Professional Credentials:
MS, Communication Sciences and Disorders, UW-Whitewater
BS, Psychology, UW-Whitewater
Licensed Clinical Pastoral Counselor, NCCA
Temperament Therapist, NCCA
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Certification, PESI
Career Background and Calling:
In my first career as a Speech Language Pathologist, I worked in the medical setting with people across the life span to improve their speech, language, cognition, and swallowing. Working in this field, I helped to heal brains and bodies for 13 years. I continue these efforts by sharing my knowledge and experience as an adjunct lecturer at UW-Whitewater in Communication Sciences and Disorders.
After moving out of clinical practice, I was involved in starting a ministry that provided housing and recovery programming to women in early recovery from Substance Use Disorder. During my 2 years in that role, I walked with them as they navigated their new sobriety, and for many of them, their recent release from incarceration.
Though new to the role of Pastoral Counselor, I have functioned in related roles within my previous career experiences, and have a special interest in helping all people find freedom in the Lord.
Personal Statement:
“As water reflects the face, so one's life reflects the Heart" Proverbs 27:19 and "I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a new heart of flesh." Ezekiel 36:26 I have a call to walk with people as they work through their past hurts and the muck of life in this fallen world, to fully realize the beautiful gift of being a child of God, to help them work with the Lord to let go of their heart of stone, to receive the gift of a new spirit and a new heart, to understand what it truly means to be a child of God, and to reflect their amazing transformation in their lives.
Biographical Information:
Most importantly, I am a wife and mother. My husband and I have a beautifully blended family with a total of 4 children and a handful of grandchildren. We have been married since 2017.
